Dark Knights events started in spring 2009 at the Exeter Phoenix art centre. Run by Dizzit (Tazzid Ingram) as a fun loving night playing house and techno with a minimal edge.
As the summers went on the night has became increasingly popular and it is now one of the best parties in Exeter and we have even been described as South-West House and Techno specialists! (John Mitchell The Guardian). With an awesome laid back vibe, smiles ear to ear and amazing residents such as Kitchen Disko, Kelly Jay, Gavin Quiet, and Dizzit.
In theatres, when there’s no performance showing, it’s referred to as a ‘dark night’ as the lights in the theatre are not in use. This is where the name Dark Knights came from.
The inspiration for the night was to provide a cheap and fun night for every one to enjoy, and to this date this remains. We only make what is needed to cover the costs so that everyone can come and enjoy the night. This is why we aim to keep the prices as low as possible.
In 2011 we started DKDA or Dark Knights Digital Audio, a new and exciting record label, aiming to unearth some fresh new talent. With a high standard and a low price, seeing to it that every one gets a good fair deal.
